Taylor GA3e-12 is enriched with the solid- Sitka spruce top; the tonewood standard of the modern era. The most commonly used wood for guitar tops; Sitka generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking. The body is built with Sapele. Its tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse range of playing styles. It’s comparable to mahogany but its higher density tends to produce a slightly brighter sound with more top-end shimmer. The Grand Auditorium shape produces an original acoustic voice that is big enough to handle medium-strength picking and strumming, yet with impressive balance across the tonal spectrum, especially in the midrange, producing clear, well-defined notes that suit both strumming and fingerstyle playing.
This power horse is shipped with Expression System® as stock pickup which is all-magnetic acoustic guitar pickup system that works like a microphone to produce a pure signal and a warm, natural acoustic sound. When you plug in, you'll hear the sound of your guitar, not the sound of the pickup. No complicated controls. No tone simulators. Just a clean amplified acoustic guitar sound supported by three simple controls — volume, bass and treble. Years of research brought the makers to a simple realization: Nothing sounds as true and musical as a microphone —hence this Breakthrough Technology was engineered.
There’s a lot to be said for the clean, traditional look of a non-cutaway acoustic guitar, which is why the makers of this guitar offer a line of non-cutaway models. If you don’t plan to play in the upper register, or simply prefer the symmetrical hourglass contours of a guitar, a non-cutaway model is a great option.
