Contrary to popular belief, electric guitars are an instrument that requires you to master two very different things. One is, of course, the playing technique, but the other is utilizing the hardware of that guitar and that of the amplifier in order to dial in a great tone.
This guitar is amazing, with a humbucker, 2 single coil pickups, 21 frets and a rosewood/Maple finger board, satin finish on the high gloss finish on the body, bridge comes with a whammy bar, durable non locking tuners. The neck fits very comfy and the fret board that just feels good. This guitar definitely competes with rest of the Fender Strats. The Strat guitar has a very simple design and finish.
Another great feature is that you can customize/upgrade literally everything whenever you feel like.
Guitar is built like a tank. Throw it off the roof; bash it on the ground, any beatings like that won't break this guitar. The guitar is so durable yet so light for all the jumping around you want to do on stage. This guitar is sturdy as a rock!
This you can play with any style of music with this guitar. With the five ways Switch, you can play any kind of music and sounds great with distortion. It can be aggressive or really "calm" it just depends on how you play it.
Plus what an amazing sound, especially for the price! It is a very good guitar for beginners to intermediate and even some of the better players. It has all the looks and features of a real Strat yet this is an affordable Strat.

- Had issues, got the solution from Musikshack customer care.
this strat detuned on stage, because I whammied too much. so, dont overdo it, I'd be completely happy with this one if it hadn't detuned DURING a gig. My band lost the contest because the whammy bar makes it detune. everything else is awesome.
So I did a proper setup and blocking the tremolo (great tuning improvement tip from musikshack customer care), it is actually a surprisingly good guitar.
- My review on montego black with PLATINUM SPARKLE pickguard. sounds great, too great for a squier...
The guitar is fine as a starter instrument. Listen; don't buy a Squier Affinity series thinking you are going to get a guitar made to the same specs as a Fender Strat, you ain't, apart from quality of the fittings and electrics they are cosmetically different as well, the paint work is a lot less resistant to knocks and the the body is a lot thinner. Also there is some confusion as to the wood used, for the record, if you buy an Affinity Strat in a starter pack than the wood is Agathis, if you buy the guitar on it's own then the wood is Alder. the humbucker sounds very nice(no hum here) plays very nice and smooth. but im just a beginner what do i know right? hehehe...
