Contrary to popular belief, electric guitars are an instrument that requires you to master two very different things. One is, of course, the playing technique, but the other is utilizing the hardware of that guitar and that of the amplifier in order to dial in a great tone.
The Schecter Damien Elite FR electric guitar has a gorgeous quilted maple top, a double-cutaway mahogany body, bolt-on maple neck, and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
Schecter's Damien Elite is loaded with the classic combination of an EMG-81 active humbucker in the bridge position and an EMG-85 active humbucker in the neck position for all the great heavy rock tones you need. Grover tuning machines with a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo bridge allow for the most unreal tremolo effects ever, as well as total tuning stability and tonal sustain.
The electric guitar's appointments include stained cross inlays, multi-ply fretboard and body binding, and black chrome hardware.
ROTOMATICS with 18:1 GEAR RATIO (102-18 SERIES) The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
EMG Active 81/85 Pickups
One of the most popular EMG's the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup.
Maple has a uniform grain, it's strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body.
Floyd Rose Special Tremolo Bridge
The Floyd Rose Special is the Authentic version of a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo system manufactured in Korea exclusively for Floyd Rose. The Floyd Rose Special maintains the construction parameters and features of an Original Floyd Rose, while utilizing zinc alloy saddles in place of steel and a zinc alloy sustain block in place of brass.

- Very high end and quality parts for such a priced instrument boggles the mind; why anyone would still go with Gibson or Fender
It's a loud guitar, a very thick and powerful sound. Dark and warm because of the fact it's mahogany but even though it's got such a thick neck and body it still can get some nice bright tones out of it. Tuning and string TYPE (not gauge) matter big time. I bought it, used it. But the fretting could be better; not a big deal, I can fix it in a day or two. The neck is re-enforced with good material to prevent the neck from breaking if you drop the guitar. Sturdy in that way. Believe it or not I didn't like this guitar at first but it really grew on me. Other than the really thick neck which is great for low tunings and very thick body. But I will get used to it in some days.
